Brown Club of Hawaii presents:
Out of this World with NASA’s Perseverance Mars Mission

After a year of staying at home during the pandemic, don’t you just want to travel great distances and explore new places? How about literally going out of this world?  Then, join us on Memorial Day as we travel virtually to Mars for a presentation by Brown alum, Dr. Jesse Tarnas ScM'18 PhD'21, about NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover mission.  You can share in the excitement as we watch video clips of the Perseverance Mars landing and the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter flying above Mars’ surface.  Dr. Tarnas will describe the huge challenges that NASA faced in this Mars mission and what this mission means for science and the future of humans in space.  We invite you and your family to watch Dr. Tarnas’ engrossing and educational presentation.  Dr. Tarnas grew up in Waimea on the island of Hawaii, obtained his Ph.D. in Planetary Science from Brown University and currently works for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
