The Baltimore Checkerspot butterfly gets its name from the orange and black colors of the heraldic shield of George Calvert who was the first Lord Baltimore. It is the state insect of Maryland.
The CheckerSpot Brewing Company takes its name from the butterfly, as that little creature embodies their belief that without an appreciation of nature, and local, quality ingredients, great beer cannot exist.
The brewery is proud to offer an array of small-batch, thoughtfully-crafted, Gluten-reduced beers - inspired by nature and served in Baltimore, a city they love.
The Brown Club of Greater Baltimore invites you to its fourth quarter 2023 (in cast you haven't figured out that we are trying to do this quarterly) Happy Hour at CheckerSpot Brewing Company in south Baltimore near M&T Bank Stadium. The brewery has been in business for about 5 years. Please come and enjoy the variety of interesting brews and the company of other local Brunonians. There is no need to RSVP, but replies are welcome.
