The Brown Club of Boston invites you to participate in our very first event of 2024: Be More Connected: Building Trust and Intimacy, facilitated by Jim Griffeth (Sc.B. Electrical Engineering ‘79) and his wife Emily Liu (B.S. Cornell ‘84).
As experienced relationship coaches and co-founders of Epic Love Institute, Jim and Emily will guide an interactive discussion about how to deepen connections in your established or emerging relationships. Researchers at the 85-year Harvard Grant Study (corroborated by other research) have revealed that the level of happiness (and longevity) is directly correlated to the emotional depth of our relationships. In this small and interactive workshop, you will increase your understanding of how to cultivate closeness and emotional intimacy through vulnerability and courageous communication with your spouse/significant other. Join us as we engage in a facilitated group workshop encompassing the challenges and benefits of enabling intimacy and openness in your relationships in 2024 and beyond!
To ensure privacy, confidentiality, and meaningful conversation, the event will have a maximum capacity of 20 attendees, and, we will use technology that will aid in creating a safe and confidential space.
This event is intended for people who are in committed, romantic relationships. We highly encourage you and your partner to join us for this deep and meaningful workshop and the opportunity to gather as a group with similar challenges. If your partner is not interested or not able to attend, we invite you to come alone as this will still be a valuable learning experience for you.
Due to the nature of this event, tickets are limited.
Secure your seat today by registering ASAP as we expect this event to fill up quickly with people of all ages who would benefit from this workshop. To cover our costs, the admission ticket for this event is $10 per person and is non-refundable. To facilitate a welcoming environment, we will be serving wine, cheese, and chocolates (all included in your ticket).
Doors open at 6 pm, and the discussion will begin at 6:15. Please ensure you get to the event by 6 pm to not miss a minute of this special event!

Emily graduated with a B.S. in Nutrition from Cornell University.
Jim and Emily’s Story:
Jim and Emily met the old-fashioned way – through an online dating app. Their relationship accelerated quickly because they shared the language of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) healing and Self-leadership model. The IFS framework allowed Jim and Emily to safely have difficult and vulnerable conversations early in their relationship, thereby helping them build deep intimacy very quickly. Then, as Jim brainstormed with Emily about how to talk about getting relationships right, he realized that he could add tremendous value to her business. So, Jim and Emily joined forces to create the Epic Love Institute, with a mission to help couples and singles resolve conflicts the right way and build their dream relationships.
