We have arranged a private group tour of The Glass House in New Canaan, which will last two hours and include The Glass House, the Painting Gallery, the Sculpture Gallery, and Da Monsta, with a three-quarter mile walk over grass and paths with outdoor sculptures. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the midcentury modern masterpiece that so many of us studied at Brown.

The Glass House, built between 1949 and 1995 by architect Philip Johnson, is an historic site owned and operated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The pastoral 49-acre landscape comprises fourteen structures and features a permanent collection of 20th-century paintings and sculptures, along with temporary exhibitions. As a historic site, The Glass House serves as a catalyst for the preservation and interpretation of modern architecture, landscape, and art, and as a canvas for inspiration and experimentation.

The site is ADA accessible and tours are run rain or shine. In the event of rain, please bring umbrellas and rain coats. Large bags and backpacks need to be checked at the Visitor Center. Please note we will split into two groups of 13 people departing from the Glass House Visitor Center 20 minutes apart, with a separate tour guide leading each group. Photography is allowed. Enhance your experience at The Glass House with their Digital Guide on Bloomberg Connects.
