Meet fellow Cleveland-based alumni and hear from Jarred Smith '12 about his journey in building his sports-energy drink brand, NOOMA.

Please join us this July for a happy hour to meet and connect with old and new friends! The Brown Alumni Entrepreneurship Group and the Brown University Association of Northeastern Ohio are very excited to bring you a mix of socializing/networking and insights/learnings from a Cleveland-based entrepreneur that's spent the last decade growing his sports-energy drink brand, NOOMA.

The logistics:
We have reserved an event space at COhatch in the heart of Ohio City from 6-8 PM on Thursday, July 13th. Free street parking and paid garage parking is available nearby.

The event space capacity is 50. If we are at or nearing capacity, we must check tickets at the door, so please register ahead of time!
We'll provide some light snacks and hors d'oeuvres, catered by the attached North High Brewing. Drinks will not be provided but are available for purchase at North High Brewing.

The first hour will be socializing and networking. For the second hour, we're very excited to have Jarred Smith, class of 2012, talk about his experience and learnings as an entrepreneur.

About Jarred
Jarred and his brother Brandon grew up on the east side of Cleveland. They excelled in hockey, both playing in college and professional hockey afterward. While playing at such a physically demanding level, they realized that there was a glaring gap in the sports energy drink market. After leaving their professional hockey careers behind, they joined forces to launch NOOMA ("No More Artificials" - https://www.drinknooma.com) in 2013, a natural alternative to the existing sugary and acidic sports drinks on the market. Since then, they've spent the last decade growing their brand to over 20 different highly-reviewed products, targeting different phases of sports hydration and recovery.

Jarred will join us to discuss the challenges he faced and the insights he gained in growing a brand in a hyper-competitive space, selling direct-to-consumer through Amazon and his website, and formulating a product that stands out as new and novel in a competitive space.
