NASA is going back to Mars!

Join Dr. J.R. Skok ScM'09 PhD'13, a planetary scientist at the SETI Institute, to learn about this next chapter.

On February, 18th, 2021, NASA will be landing the Perseverance Rover in the Jezero Crater on Mars to explore for life, collect samples and begin the process to return them to Earth. This mission is the culmination of decades of interplanetary exploration and will revolutionize how humans can explore space. Central to the Mission’s success is its landing site in the ancient lake deposits of the Jezero Crater. The scientific value of Jezero was first recognized and developed by the students and professors at Brown University nearly 20 years ago. Since then, Brown Scientists and alumni have led the efforts to understand this unique part of Mars and promote it as the mission landing site.

Join Dr. J.R. Skok ScM'09 PhD'13 to learn about this next chapter of Mars Exploration, the role that Brown had in making it happen, and what to expect from the Mission landing on February 18th.
