Calling all Word Nerds! Join your fellow lovers of lingo and lexicon lore in one of DC's newest museums and temple to language, Planet Word. BCDC is offering a special group tour for up to 20 people who delight in diction.
Our group will be guided through three floors of exhibits about words and their history -- a two-hour tour of the worlds of words. From "The World of Words" to "Lend Me Your Ears" to "Joking Around," all your senses (and your funny bone) will be tickled as you learn about how babies first learn language to the idioms invented through advertising. You will have the chance to give a speech, tell a joke, and sing a song -- if you wish. And if two hours of words are not enough, you can continue the conversation following the tour.
With space limited, and knowing the BCDC community's love of language, make sure to secure your spot soon! Tickets are FREE for dues-paying BCDC members at any level, and $5 for non-members and guests.

Planet Word is located on Franklin Square at 925 13th Street Northwest, between I and K Streets. The closest Metro stations are McPherson Square (Orange/Blue) and Mount Vernon Square (Yellow/Green).The museum does not offer parking, but there are several parking lots nearby. Bike racks are available on the Northeast corner of 13th and K street (in front of PAUL restaurant) and half a block down K Street from Planet Word's main entrance.
