Acclaimed scholar and public intellectual Dr.Tricia Rose of Brown University will visit Politics & Prose on March 22 @ 7PM for a talk about the just released Metaracism. The timely and bold book has been hailed as "a bracing and invaluable new account of what systemic racism actually is."

Following the talk, which will be held in conversation with civil rights advocate Rashad Robinson, registrants for our event will continue the conversation in an intimate setting over drinks and light fare across the street at I'm Eddie Cano. All Brunonians and friends/family are highly encouraged to attend the free book talk itself and say hi to Dr. Rose as she signs books afterward, but this is a great opportunity to unpack it in good, thoughtful company!

Registration includes one drink per person and shared appetizers, and is strictly limited to the first ten people to register in order to allow for a meaningful conversation, so be sure to secure your spot today! 

Arrival time at the public book talk is flexible. However, we ask that guests for our post-talk convening be present and ready to walk to the restaurant together by 8PM. Look for the Brown pennant!

About the Author

Tricia Rose is Chancellor's Professor of Africana Studies and the director of the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America at Brown University. The author of three books, including The Hip Hop Wars, she has received fellowships from the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations, and her research has been funded by the Mellon and Robert Wood Johnson Foundations.
