Please join our newly formed virtual Brown Club of Westchester Book Club on Wednesday, October 21 at 7:30pm when we discuss Where the Crawdads Sing, a 2018 novel by Delia Owens. The novel has topped the New York Times Fiction Best Sellers for 2018 and 2019 for a combined 32 non-consecutive weeks and is currently #9 on Amazon Charts. As Wikipedia describes, "The story follows two timelines that slowly intertwine. The first timeline describes the life and adventures of a young girl named Kya as she grows up isolated in the marsh of North Carolina from 1952–1969. The second timeline follows a murder investigation of Chase Andrews, a local celebrity of Barkley Cove, a fictional coastal town of North Carolina."

“A painfully beautiful first novel that is at once a murder mystery, a coming-of-age narrative and a celebration of nature....Owens here surveys the desolate marshlands of the North Carolina coast through the eyes of an abandoned child. And in her isolation that child makes us open our own eyes to the secret wonders—and dangers—of her private world.”—The New York Times Book Review
