How to Deal with Mental Health Issues for our Families, Friends and Ourselves
The Brown Club of the Philippines would like to invite you and members of other US university clubs, to join us for an evening with visiting neuropsychology expert and Brown alum, Dr. Anne Helmus.
Anne's goal is to empower people with the knowledge to understand mental health issues, and to figure out next steps in dealing with these for family, friends and self.
Anne is a pediatric neuropsychologist and founder/executive director of NESCA (www.nesca-newton.com), a multi-disciplinary evaluation and treatment center for children and adolescents in the Boston area that has grown steadily over the past 25 years. She also regularly works internationally, doing consultations and presentations for parent and professional groups, and has visited the Philippines frequently. Dr. Helmus serves on the advisory board of two educational technology companies and volunteers with several organizations that advocate for individuals with special needs.
After graduating from Brown University with an ScB in Neuroscience, Dr. Helmus earned her doctorate at Boston University School of Medicine. She did her post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. Prior to founding NESCA, Dr. Helmus served as a staff neuropsychologist at Boston Children’s Hospital and at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Cost: PHP 1,000 per person.
